Mich L. / Mich Leemans, founding member of Paper Hats and curator of AB Salon, is a Brussels-based sound artist whose work embraces contemplative simplicity and the beauty of hidden frequencies.
From his earliest experiments as a young boy with a DIY electronica building kit, Mich has been fascinated by the hidden beauty within frequencies — the fragile harmonics tucked inside oscillators & filters, the breath of tape machines and the warm imperfections of analog synthesis.
His music evolves slowly, inviting deep, immersive listening.
The 2023 release on the acclaimed Cortizona label, ‘air near silence’, explored these ideas with quiet precision, In 2024, the renowned Belgian label Dauw released ‘Shelved Dreams (for a New Nubia)‘, a tape that further expands his quest for deep, immersive listening experiences.
Live, his performances unfold as spatial dialogues between sound, space, and body, transforming the listener’s awareness.
